日本が2022年10月11日から水際対策を緩和したことにより、出入国在留管理局への申請数が急増しています。その結果、特に東京出入国在留管理局では現在、審査にかなり時間がかかっています。また、結果が出てから実際に認定証明書が交付されるまでの時間も以前と比べて時間がかかっています。

当事務所の直近のいくつかのケースでは、

• これまで1か月前後で許可が出ていた日本人の配偶者等の認定申請→COEを受け取るまで3か月
• 技術・人文知識・国際業務の認定申請、変更申請→COE／在留カード受取まで2か月半
• 企業内転勤の認定申請　→　COEを受け取るまで3か月半

このように許可が出ている問題のないケースでも以前より時間がかかっています。

Screening at Immigration Office taking longer

The number of applications to the　Immigration Bureaus has been increasing rapidly since Japan eased its waterfront measures effective October 11, 2022. As a result, the screening process is currently taking considerable time, especially at the Tokyo Immigration Bureaus.

In some of our firm’s most recent cases,

•  Application for COE for “Spouse of a Japanese National”, which used to be approved in around one month → Took three months to receive the COE
• Application for change of status of residence to “Engineer/ Specialist in humanities/International Services”:  Took 2.5 months to receive COE/residence card
• Application for COE for Intra-company transferee” → Took 3.5 months to receive COE

Even in cases without any problems where permission has been granted, it is taking longer than before.
