日本経済新聞社によると、出入国在留管理庁は5月12日、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大を考慮し、7月に在留期限を迎える外国人の在留資格の更新申請も3カ月間猶予すると発表しました。資格変更の許可申請も3カ月間猶予されます。

これまでは3～6月に在留期限を迎える人だけを対象としていました。

Application period for the renewal of Status of Residence will be extended for 3 months, including foreigners with expiration date of July 2020

According to the Nikkei news, the Immigration Bureau announced on May 12th that it will give 3 months extension for the “Renewal application of the Status of Residence” of foreigners whose Status of Residence expired or will expire in March to July 2020, due to the spread of new Corona virus infection.

Application for the “Change of the Status of Residence” will also be given 3 months extension.

Until now, the application period for those whose expiration date of the Status of Residence was from March to June has been extended for three months. Due to the prolonged effects of the new Corona virus (Covid-19), people whose Status of Residence will expire in July are also included.
